Women who have already built businesses, broken new ground and helped shape the present. From the Women Economic Forum in Turin, a reflection on female leadership, the value of shared experiences and the importance of places that bring people, ideas and visions together. Through an architect’s eyes, a visit to OGR Torino also becomes an opportunity to reflect on how the future is built. Superstudio was represented by Gisella Borioli, who chaired the panel on Women and Image.

The Women Economic Forum Italia 2026 concluded yesterday in Turin after three days dedicated to female leadership and women’s contribution to economic, social and cultural change.

Ingenuity comes from within and makes each of us unique. This is precisely where any discussion of artificial intelligence and the future of Made in Italy should begin. At the Superstudio 13 photography studios, INGENIUM – Made in Italy Innovation Platform, with the support of ePhoto, brought together institutions, fashion businesses and leading innovators for a symposium organised by Limitless Innovation, exploring the changes reshaping fashion, luxury and lifestyle.

Promoted by Limitless Innovation, INGENIUM is an open innovation platform fostering collaboration between businesses, start-ups, universities, research centres, investors and institutions. Its aim is to accelerate the digital and sustainable transition while strengthening Italy’s competitiveness.

For the 12th edition of Archivi Aperti (“Open Archives”)—an event dedicated to promoting Italy’s photographic heritage, held from October 16 to 25, 2026, at various venues across the country—we opened the invaluable Giuseppe Pino Archive to the public. Thanks to the generosity of Superstudio and Gisella Borioli, the archive is now housed at Superstudio 13, located at Via Forcella 13 in Milan. This is a particularly significant setting: these historic Milanese photographic studios, established by Flavio Lucchini in 1983, served as a landmark for a golden age of international photography, playing a decisive role in shaping and promoting the image of "Made in Italy" worldwide.

Eight metres of Corten steel and a message of beauty and creativity: Flavio Lucchini’s new sculpture welcomes visitors to Superstudio Village. Its debut brought together dancing, live music and a composition by Pierre Amour.

Its name is Big Totem, and since yesterday it has called the new Superstudio Village home. Towering and pared back, with a silhouette reminiscent of an African idol, it has a special mission: to bring good luck and convey the spirit of the place at first glance. Here, beauty, creativity and commitment have found a home.

A precious selection of rare and iconic photographs reveals Frida Kahlo through the eyes of those who knew, loved and photographed her, between intimacy, self-representation and images that have become legendary. A story that goes beyond folklore to come closer to the woman, the artist and the complexity of the figure.

As overused as the term may be today, there is no doubt that Frida Kahlo is a contemporary icon. Her face, with her magnetic gaze and distinctive eyebrows, is now as familiar as those of Marilyn Monroe or Che Guevara.

Superstudio Events, which grew out of parent company Superstudio Group, has acquired a majority stake in the company that runs events at Spring Studios New York. The TriBeCa venue is the first step in an international project with far-reaching ambitions.

It is a move that shows just how far Superstudio has come. What began with photography studios in Milan grew into venues where fashion, design, art and business meet. Flavio Lucchini and Gisella Borioli began building that world in 1983; their nephew Tommaso Borioli joined them ten years ago. Now Superstudio has an address in the heart of Manhattan.

The time has finally come to reveal who the “Hidden Genius” I have been telling you about over the past few days really is — and what he does. Pierre Amour (his real family name, and already quite a statement) is a young artist, composer and writer, but above all a fashion designer with a clear vision of the future and all the qualities to join the Olympus of tomorrow’s Great Creators. The virtual fashion show I wanted to bring to Superstudio for this Fashion Week has simply confirmed his extraordinary talent.

In Milan for the very first time. Discover him from September 24 at the FLA Museum at Superstudio Più.

The thrilling energy of Gianni Versace’s creations. The understated allure of Giorgio Armani, who changed the way women dressed—and carried themselves—by reinventing the jacket and trousers.

SUPERSTUDIO’S BUSY AUTUMN

Superstudio is expanding its spaces and initiatives while staying true to its identity – fashion, art and photography – in the most tangible way possible: opening new venues and exhibitions, unveiling a monumental sculpture, and bringing under the same roof those who have always preserved this DNA.The common thread running through Superstudio’s Milanese autumn is not dispersion, but presence: more places, more initiatives, all connected to the same DNA rooted in fashion, art and photographic production, which the brand has cultivated over the years. The official debut of Superstudio Village during the latest Design Week already gave a sense of its ambitions: a series of high-profile events, including the Dolce & Gabbana beauty event and the 10th anniversary of Digital Design Days, confirmed the new hub on Via Negrotto, in Bovisa, as a new fixture on Milan’s calendar.
On the cultural front, the programme is becoming increasingly rich. From 21 to 28 September, the FLA Museum on Via Tortona will host FUTURFASHION – The Hidden Genius, a project curated by Gisella Borioli that brings fashion, art and artificial intelligence into dialogue through the work of a young artist and fashion designer who is still largely unknown to the wider public – a “hidden genius” who embodies the spirit of the initiative: discovering talent before it becomes a shared phenomenon. The exhibition will return on 24–25 October for the ApritiModa weekend.
On 8 October, it will be the turn of MyOwnGallery, also on Via Tortona, which will open an exhibition dedicated to Frida Kahlo, titled “Through My Eyes: Frida Kahlo and the Construction of the Myth”, curated by Vittoria Mainoldi and running until 11 January 2027. It marks a new chapter for a space that has made the interplay between art and fashion its distinctive hallmark.
The following day, 9 October, Superstudio Village will host the official unveiling of Big Totem, the large-scale sculpture by Flavio Lucchini, which will also symbolically open the SWING weekend by Spirit de Milan, hosted at the new venue for the first time.
Rounding out the picture is a piece of news that, more than any other, reflects the way Superstudio is growing: the acquisition of a majority stake (51%) in ePhoto, a long-standing partner of Superstudio Set – the company operating the Superstudio 13 studios on Via Forcella, one of Italy’s best-known locations for fashion and editorial photography production. The operation brings technical know-how closely connected to the original DNA of the business under a single ownership structure: the clearest indication that, for Superstudio, multiplying means first and foremost strengthening its roots.
