Last edition of the Art Dubai Fair closed with overall satisfaction. Over the past 15 years, this event brought the thousand facets of contemporary art in the Middle East, both locally and internationally, resulting in mulltiple initiatives around the city...

In the past 10 years, the taste of art amateurs and collectors who live or visit Dubai has evolved a lot, often boosting the mix of various cultural expressions, bold proposals, digital art, video art, and technological innovations. As part of the 2022 Art Week, 120 galleries from around the world - including Marella in Milano, with whom Superstudio has been working together for years, and Perrotin in Paris - attracted more than 30.000 visitors, celebrating the Art Dubai Fair in March in a context full of enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity for the flagship event of the region, once again taking place at the Madinat Art Center...

2019-2022. After a two-year break, last weekend Book Pride made the headlines in Milan with almost 12.000 visitors in just three days. What’s the plus? A new location where culture is practiced differently...

A moltitude of initiatives (moltitude is also the theme of the 6th edition) involving more than 200 exhibitors, 469 guests and almost 200 talks throughout the weekend: a show of variety, from the most engaged interventions, as Pesto alla genovese by the photoreporter Luciano del Castillo, who shot one of the most iconic photos of the 2001 Genoa G8, to the beautiful series Le parole delle canzoni in which Treccani plots the evolution of our societies through a selection of songs by contemporary songwriters...

The following are the protagonists of Angela, the exhibition of the artist Angela Carrubba Pintaldi opening tomorrow, 8 March, right on International Women’s Day, in MyOwnGallery. As usual, under the artistic direction of Gisella Borioli...

No better occasion to introduce our readers to the team of the exhibition, an all-female one. Starting from Angela Carruba Pintaldi. Of Siracusa, her native land, she has the intense energy and earthy vibrations of an endless world, the silent beauty of her passion, exuberance and pathos. Then, the curator, Anna imponente: she has been “Director of the Ministry of Culture until 2020, dealing with the promotion and enhancement of museums and cultural places”. Last but not least, the author of one of the poems on display: Maria Francesca Merloni...

Technology is magical and fantastical, it challenges our most rooted habits, creating new opportunities out of them. For example, conventional table salt, whilst still associated with kitchens and food preservation, is currently undergoing a paradigm shift in its usage, with engineers and designers increasingly employing it to construct buildings of the future...

Salt has an ancient past: used to preserve food as early as 10.000 years ago, later among the Romans it was a currency to pay soldiers, hence the term “salary”.
Today, salt is mass-produced also thanks to its adaptability and cost-effectiveness. Nonetheless, the amount of wasted salt has grown in recent times, resulting in the intensification of collective research to find creative recycling solutions...

The fourth edition of Book Pride kicks off at Superstudio Maxi from 4 to 6 March for a weekend entirely dedicated to independent publishing...

At times, taking a break is a plus, new ideas can appear in a flash. This is what happened to Book Pride, which, in its third edition, was cut short in the first months of 2020. Just a year after the First Pandemic, a brand-new pool of entrepreneurs founded the Book Pride Association. They scrapped the idea of a traditional stand-based fair and instead created a place for sharing, where independent publishers could find their oasis, able to freely meet without being overshadowed by big publishers...

On Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March, from 16 to 18.30, you can discover a still secret place in the area: the Flavio Lucchini Art Museum. After originating from the artist's studio in 2000, it has now evolved into a creative space where dozens of the artworks he created over the years are on display. Fashion – that is the artist's true background – is at the centre of his considerations, even when meeting art: “Women’s dresses can convey beauty, irony, boldness, eroticism and many other emotions....

The huge spaces of Superstudio Maxi in via Moncucco 35 were the perfect setting for the evocative performance of Ambush. The first show in Milan of the Korean designer Yoon Ahn was a futuristic journey on an unknown planet...

Crossing the threshold of Superstudio Maxi for the selected guests (with a strict guest list that did not allow exceptions, those who were not marked in remained outside) of the Ambush fashion show was like being projected into a parallel, almost dreamlike, virtual world. Your gaze is hypnotically captured by the center of the room where, lying on a huge square of white stardust, or moon sand maybe, a big sphere is tinged with red and then invaded by an intense-white light. Impossible to take your eyes off it while being enveloped by the pre-show music...

Underground vibrations, pop quotes and a superstar parterre for the debut on the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week of Glenn Martens, Diesel's creative director, who presented, in the spaces of Superstudio Maxi, the collection for autumn/winter 2022-2023. The immense hall of Superstudio Maxi allowed the most spectacular and gigantic setting of the Milan Fashion Week.

It was one of the most awaited events of the week and the Diesel fashion show, that marked the return of the brand at MFW, did not disappoint the expectations. The front row (finally back in presence and without limitations of audience capacity) was the great occasions one...

“A city of arts and culture is springing up alongside the ruins of a millennial city expected to become the first 2030 tourist hub in the area”, says our correspondent from the desert of Al Ula (Saudi Arabia), Mariella Dolci. As soon as a tourist arrives at the airport, a sculpture by Manolo Valdès welcomes them. Then, out in the open desert, against the backdrop of pierced rocks shaped by the wind, the interplay of mirrors of the Maraya Center impressively multiplies the natural scenery...

As part of Saudi Vision 2030, Al Ula will be the first region to open to tourism. The past is here, the future yet to be written. Hotels, restaurants for the most refined palates, cultural paths, horse races, and polo competitions are being built...
