A special evening opens the new series of events AMICHE, curated by Superstudio, to celebrate female friendship and solidarity, and to rediscover the fully renovated Roof/Terzo Paradiso by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The occasion marks the presentation of "Dear Death, My Friend", Gaia Trussardi’s first book, through an intimate conversation with Gisella Borioli — journalist, curator, founder and creative soul of Superstudio.
At Superstudio Più, a new path has been launched for the development of initiatives and events in art, design, publishing, and education, within six permanent spaces dedicated to beauty, creativity, and culture: art.box, MyOwnGallery, FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum, Art-Garden, Roof/Terzo Paradiso, and Academy Point.
The Atelier of the FLA Museum at Superstudio Più hosted the 2025 edition of "Sentient Horizons," the event curated by Istituto Marangoni Milano Design that explores the intersection of art, design, science, and artificial intelligence. Over 150 attendees, including professionals and students, gathered insights, innovations, and inspiration from an international panel of leading experts.
The theme of this year’s edition was “Seamless Singularities,” an exploration of the hybrid zone where the interaction between humans and artificial systems gives rise to new visions of what is possible.
Twenty-five years of success celebrated alongside all those who, driven by passion, study, or curiosity, choose to explore design trends with us. Countless projects that tell stories, reveal distant cultures, and spark dreams with open eyes. Every year, organizing this event down to the smallest detail excites and inspires me. I’m glad that people have the chance to discover the incredible world of design, but we must ensure that quality remains at the heart of this great project, continuing to give voice to culture and new ideas.
Just a few days after the close of Superdesign Show 2025, in a climate still full of emotion, it's natural to pause and reflect. This was a special edition—the twenty-fifth—and like every important anniversary, it brings with it reflections, questions, hopes.
A vertical installation inspired by the X Table System—the modular table collection designed for Cappellini by Hsiang Han Hsu, a Taiwan-born designer based in Taipei—welcomes visitors at the entrance of the grand Central Point hall, where the Far East exhibitors area unfolds first. X Possibilities is a way to evoke thought and explore the potential of extending nature into industry and art. The stacked modular tables, in various sizes, rest on an injection-molded plastic base inspired by geometric forms found in nature, ensuring both strength and stability.

HABITS. A NEW WAY OF THINKING ABOUT FOOD
Light Bites—literally “bites of light”—is a collection of tableware where plates and glasses are equipped with sensors and light sources that react to both food and diners’ gestures, turning them into actors on a constantly evolving imaginary stage. Thanks to a technological magic well known to the designers at Habits, who surprise us year after year, the light shifts in color and intensity based on the ingredients on the plate and the guest's movements, becoming an essential part of the eating experience, making it more conscious and contemplative. Habits, active since 2004, brings together a team of industrial designers, engineers, and visual and interior designers who collaborate with companies to create timeless products and experiences. For this occasion, the food is curated by the chefs at Altatto, a renowned vegetarian and vegan fine dining restaurant in Milan, emphasizing the natural essence of each ingredient.

Superstudio Più celebrates its important 25th anniversary with a selection of emblematic projects, milestone of the history of Italian design, that opened new path of experimentation and crossovers between arts, cultures, materials and shapes. A return to the roots of brands that – from the beginning - have supported the role as cultural catalyst of Superstudio, always capable of forecasting and anticipating the trends and setting the pace. A look at how this adventure began and how it will go on.
Twenty-five! That’s how many years separate us from the first great and revolutionary design event at Superstudio Più, which gave rise to the widespread Fuorisalone in the city and, in fact, to the Milan Design Week as we know it today, with its presence in the neighborhoods.
Three Japanese companies, each with its own expertise, come together to create an elaborate light installation that invites reflection on the nature of happiness.
Unpredictable, fleeting, unexpected, hidden—happiness is not always easy to define. GPJ Japan, Yutaka, and ONEFABRICA have collaborated to produce immersive installations that offer unique sensory experiences. Invited by Superdesign, this time with a captivating mise-en-scène, they encourage visitors to reflect on how happiness can manifest in surprising ways. George P. Johnson Japan Ltd (GPJ) aims to empower brands to stand out by crafting new kinds of user experiences.
Yutaka, a space creation coordinator, designs environments with a strong focus on spatial communication and atmosphere. ONEFABRICA provides materials such as aluminum, wood, and stone, often enhanced with artistic reproductions. Ambitious and innovative projects that amaze the visitors and create experiences with a strong emotional impact. The future of design is reimagined and redefined thanks to imposing and visionary installlations that link seamingly far universes in an original way, telling engaging stories and unexpected, poetic connessions. Two big names invite to view technology in a new light, as a “almost-human” tool, at people’s service.
LEXUS. INHALE AND EXHALE
“A-Un” is an impressive installation that intuitively connects with those who experience it, evoking the form of the new cockpit for electric cars Black Butterfly. It pushes boundaries and unveils new possible interactions between humans and next-generation vehicles, based on mutual understanding: this is Lexus’ ambition. The project’s name is inspired by the Japanese expression A-un no kokyu, which describes a harmonious non-verbal communication made possible by the synchronization of human breath with that of the surrounding world. Within a monumental space woven with threads, visitors can experience a luminous moment where their heartbeat merges in real time with the 1/f tremors sampled from nature. The installation was created by Takeshi Nozoe, founder of the creative company SIX Inc. and award-winning creative director, along with Tatsuki Ikezawa of STUDEO. The second installation, “Discover Together”, is the result of a collaboration between Bascule Inc., the design team at Northeastern University, and Lexus designers Moto Takabatake and Yuri Tamura. These emerging creatives, each with their own vision, explored and reinterpreted the connection between people and Black Butterfly. www.discoverlexus.com
GEBERIT. WHERE WATER MEETS DESIGN
A unique experience where visitors are fully immersed in an interactive way. Guided by sounds, light effects, and, of course, the movements of water around them. But Geberit’s installation, a company known for its cutting-edge sanitary products, is not just a fascinating display for its own sake. It aims to tell, and succeeds, in showing how perfect harmony can be achieved between design and functionality. Essentially, how water, the most valuable resource, can be channeled with technology to enhance daily performance. Everything is explained in two areas. In the first, large Touch Rings, enhanced by Artificial Intelligence, highlight the movement of water flows. The impression is that of an artistic installation. The second area, Mastering Water, explains Geberit’s technological intervention. A transparent cube in the center of the room simulates the movements of water and how these can be optimized. Following this, a more illustrative zone presents new and various solutions such as the AquaClean Alba, which integrates a toilet and bidet, offering excellent cleaning and comfort performance through a remote control and app. The Sigma 40 is the new series of control plates with a depth of just a few millimeters, available in various materials. Additionally, there are new linear design shower solutions, TurboFlush for cleaning and maintaining ceramics, and furniture concepts with over 350 combinations. www.geberit.it
Numerous collectives of artists and designers that are showcased at Superdesign Show this year. Each with their own vision of life and happiness, they present fun, colorful projects, that blend craftmanship with innovation, always standing out for their attention at sustainability and the reuse of materials. Wheter it’s for their cutting-edge research, for the successful mix between Western and Eastern elements or just for the unusual and lively shapes, these projects share the ability to capture attention.
DITP & THACCA. CREATIVITY AND COLORS FROM THE LAND OF SMILE
In the large space dedicated to Thailand, visitors enter a scenario of light colors, dunes, and clouds that spark the imagination. Surrounding them are captivating objects with unusual aesthetics, a collection of eclectic ideas. What do transparent colored glass lamps, a bamboo armchair in vibrant hues, accessories shaped like dogs, lemons, pineapples, and a floral-patterned bag have in common? Much more than one might imagine. These are furnishings, furniture, and accessories designed with the specific goal of bringing happiness in a difficult and uncertain time, amidst geopolitical conflicts and environmental disasters. Common features include “warm” comfort, “joyful” creativity, and sincere sustainability. Among them stands out a small hippopotamus, Moo Deng, a rare pygmy hippopotamus that has become the symbol of joy and cultural vibrancy in Thailand. Completing the Thai pavilion is the FRONT 100 exhibition, featuring a selection of works from 100 emerging designers. www.creativethailand.net
HKIDA. EASTERN AND WESTERN CULTURES, TOGETHER

MATERIALLY. THE COMMITMENT OF THE RESEARCH
Materially’s space has always been the most visited by those curious about the extraordinary performance of seemingly simple materials that are the result of complex processes aimed at achieving the long-desired eco-compatibility. This year, various exhibiting companies showcase the commitment behind the research and development of innovative materials, with transformations far beyond imagination. They do this through the exhibition The Scale of Commitment, which presents transparent and, most importantly, measurable solutions, precisely transferring complex concepts and processes related to sustainability measurement. It helps clarify and dismantle misleading beliefs. In the installations, the materials can be touched to explore their aesthetic and functional characteristics, while immersive digital tools provide data and technical information. www.materially.eu
