The Roof — a large, completely renovated terrace above the Art Point building of Superstudio, dominated by the impressive Terzo Paradiso installation by Michelangelo Pistoletto — becomes the ideal stage for special encounters and unforgettable moments.
We’ve called these gatherings AMICHE (“Girlfriends”), fully aware of how essential solidarity, complicity, and friendship among women are to discovering unexplored worlds.
Balancing depth and lightness, the first AMICHE event invites Gaia Trussardi to present her powerful debut, "Cara Morte, amica mia" (Dear Death, My Friend), an introspective journey through the endless grief caused by the sudden death of her heroic father, and later of her brother — also a father figure — and toward the light that comes with accepting life and its inevitable end.
Gaia was born into a large and joyful family, with the wide-open horizons offered by the fashion world. She grew up in a golden environment that suddenly turned dark, opening irreparable voids. Despite the still-open wounds, her eclectic talent naturally evolved through studies in sociology, fashion, and music — though these never fully healed her. Until she stripped her suffering to the bone and found her way into a writing style that is emotional, touching, and sincere. This book. Perhaps her only medicine, alongside motherhood. And now, she is no longer afraid.
Other women accompany Gaia Trussardi in her storytelling: Gisella Borioli, journalist and curator who watched her grow up, and her two publishers, Valentina Brioschi and Margit Wiesmann, who recently discovered her.
