SECOLI FASHION SHOW: NEW TALENTS FOR A NEW WAY OF THINKING

Posted by: Angelica Cantù Rajnoldi

Daring combinations of extraordinary charm have paraded at the fashion show of Istituto Secoli on Thursday, July 8 at 5.30pm. The Academy made visible the collections of 27 designers at the end of their career on the official website (www.secoli.com) in live streaming. Among its students there are three in particular who, having been identified as the best ones in the school, opened the parade, set in the large daylight of Superstudio, with real experiments on fabrics.

Among the different spaces of our structure, Istituto Secoli decided to set its “fashion tale” in the daylight that with its neutrality lent itself well to the presentation of the different collections made by the young emerging talents who brought the realization of their dreams right here on the catwalk at the end of a three-year course of study.  Behind the realization of the garments there is the study of the digital and virtual world through the different arts that generates (as it is suggested by the name of the inspiration concept “GE.NE.RA”) a new way of thinking projected into a post-contemporary era.
Three Women’s Capsule Collections and one dedicated to Men let the viewer enter in a futuristic and alomst post-apocalyptic setting, where the touch of fashion is always present.
The defilè opens with the collections of the best students of the Academy. Anna Peretto with “Irrational Balance” proposes combinations that find their balance in colors, shapes and volumes not discounted in the wake of a racing red. Giovanni Notarnicola with “Metamorphosis” offers a reinterpretation of the traditional garments modeling, going beyond the established codes. Federica Passera with “Fluid Identities” strikes the eye with its prints on fabric and the generally dark tone of his collection developing the theme of identity contextualized in a highly technological and virtual society.
For the realization of their first garments showed to the public, students had the chance to be supported by prestigious brands such as Moncler (that this year renews its collaboration with Istituto Secoli), Asahi Kasei that thanks to the involvement of Tessitura Grisotto provided fabrics and linings in Cupro, Lectra that offered Vector®, a cutting edge solution for cutting fabric from single sheet to multilayer, Limonta |1893, that enriched the collections with its fabrics, MACPI that made students experiment the technological avant-garde for the heat-sealing and YKK ITALIA that made available its wide range of accessories. This confirms once again that that the spaces of Superstudio are able to adapt to the different needs of creative minds which we host and observe with enthusiasm.

Three Capsule Collections for women and one for men are on show, made up of original and trendy outfits.
"Generate" is a new thought through a time journey that starts from the post-modern era, crossing the contemporary, up to the definition of a post-contemporary era.
Centuries Fashion Show which since 2018 has successfully launched unedited capsule collections of three emerging talents among the best students of the school, who this year are Anna Peretto, Giovanni Notarnicola and Federica Passera.
