KICKIT! STREETWEAR AND UPCYCLING
On November 21, at Superstudio the new Kickit edition is back in town. A fair-market presents the latest trends in streetwear clothing, enriched by an intense agenda of workshops, conferences and cultural events.
It’s not about sneakers only. Since 2017, Kickit brings together streetwear enthusiasts and collectors, proposing itself as a reference market for the latest about street clothing. This year, the theme is sustainability. The famous motto "nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed" today has been successfully applied to the apparel market. A trend that has influenced techniques and processes in recent times, and keep spreading under the label of circular fashion and upcycling: in the field of streetwear there are many collectors who practice "reselling" and "second hand" market to recover "old" and secondhand goods that allow, at the same time, to do business. In this regard, Kickit insists on conscious buying, promoting a creative recycling workshop during which six participants will learn how to create a shopping bag using only denim offcuts.
Market, music, food, meetings and conferences, workshops and sports will be the features of this new edition: the "street basketball tournament" will be played, a 2 vs 2 tournament organized in collaboration with Space23 brand; an exclusive Milanese capsule collection created specifically by the new creative director of the event, Alessio Pomioli, will accompany the event's campaign; an exhibition showing rappers’ and contemporary artists’ photographed by Francesca Fazio will be held.
