From some time a lot has been talked about sustainability as a key to getting out of universal pollution, from the depletion of resources, from climatic problems, from the excess of waste. Much is done, even if not yet enough, to create aligned products on the search for sustainability in materials, productive techniques,  circular economy, recycling, architecture, waste. Even when companies declare the sustainability of their products, it is certainly not easy to recognize where ecological innovation is in design products, which sometimes also make marketing with green-washing operations. We asked the Artificial Intelligence behind the ChatGPT program to better explain what is meant by "sustainable design". His response, simple and clear, which is based on millions of information caught in the infinite ocean of the network, is a testimony of general knowledge and a help to understand. It is around the figure of a heart (in the club's logo and writing) that the story imagined by Altridea for the Super Club Design Week Experience is born, three evenings of music conceived as a nocturnal continuation of the Superdesign Show. At the Superclub, a very young venue, which opened just a year ago, but which took very little time to establish itself as a reference point in the neighbourhood, art meets design...

A hot pink sign DONNE&DESIGN gives a new configuration to the section reserved, for several years to women at the Superdesign Show event. This year the creativity of the women designers is discovered along the entire route: starting with the relaxing oases furnished with Paola Navone’s armchairs for Slide in the art-garden, continuing with the Enjoy benches by Adriana Lohmann for Slides that frame the Third Paradise installation by Michelangelo Pistoletto on the Roof. Not to mention the photography exhibition Mirror displaying shots by Angelica Cantù Rajnoldi, the “EstETICA fluida” installation by the Food Design Stories, the new-professionals who graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in the section Unexpected Objects, ending with the young and already established architects included in the parade Stars of Today. Many other pink proposals and encounters can be found step by step, all highlighted by the Donne&Design signal. And the mosaic will be recomposed.

Two dark, large, deep, attentive female eyes, accentuated by a mass of equally dark hair that falls free alongside an imaginary face: this is the interpretation that Flavio Lucchini offers, in the context of the collective art project "Vision 47”, to two textile armchairs from the Pila 47 series, conceived by product designers Paolo Emanuele Nava and Luca Maria Arosio and made by Rubelli.

The program of talks planned at Superstudio Più on the occasion of Superdesign Show 2023 touches on hot and topical issues from points of view beyond the box, ranging from art to design and architecture. The ART BEYOND ART cycle explores in three appointments some of the ways in which contemporary art is expressed today, with the presence of well-known artists and curators. With DESIGN FOR ALL, the design world's gaze in four appointments stretches across the diversity of society and seeks inclusive solutions because "nobody is standard." The Global Inclusion-art.3 Committee, Newton and Superstudio are jointly launching the 2024 call for the upcoming Milan Design Week event DESIGN FOR ALL, inviting designers and companies to look at the increasingly predominant world of "nonconformists" and study products that can improve their lives - and our perceptions - by turning differences into opportunities. Added to this is IMAGINATIVE ARCHITECTURE with the talk presented by Matrix4Design "Design beyond Imagination" and examples of impossible spaces recreated ad hoc. We enter Milan Design Week, the most important and sparkling week of the year for our city, with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. The newfound normality of the post-pandemic and the bright prospects of a scientific future clash with the darkness of an increasingly threatening war and its frightening human economic political social consequences. Milan, attractive and forbidding capital of Italian creativity among grandiose building projects and countless small construction sites bringing luxury and green into the the suburbs, continues its mutation. What about design? Into the real world comes the unreal, what until yesterday seemed like pure fantasy. H.T. (Human Technology) is measured by A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) and desires are realized with the help of “tools” that bring into the shadows skills and crafts, to which tomorrow we will give other forms and other names. 

In a total black space, architect Dante O. Benini stages, suspended in the void, ten brass plates, with gold and champagne finishings.They are deluxe, handmade switches, but with a techno soul. Just touch the toggle and everything is switched on. The room lights up. Emotions are kindled... Full of additional value thanks to the material (brass with a gold and champagne finish), the handmade manufacture and a technological core, the plaques produced by the French company Meljac, distributed in Italy by Tecnolite, are a real hit.

Innovative and interesting materials, all to be known and experienced in a diffuse environment, designed as a playground. This is “Wonder- Matter(s)”, the new exhibition with which Materially creates amazement in visitors. Resins, leather, wood polymers, metals, mycelium and flora become tools for knowledge and play in the Manifacture Playground, one of the two areas of the exhibition, a social enterprise that helps companies develop and spread innovation and sustainability. Next to it, an info point where exhibiting afirms talk about and discuss materials and their use.

“SoundSpline” is many different things: a futuristic high-tech sculpture, with classic but also pop lines. It is a structure that goes up, and as it goes up, it wraps around itself. It is an architecture that looks to nature, and is inspired by the spirals of the human ear.

From the table set with flowers and floating clouds of the last edition to many different tables, each conceived by one artist of the collective Food Design Stories and united, once again, by the intersection of ethics and beauty. An immersive path, along which trees unroll from above like waterfalls, takes visitors on a journey around creations that emerge like islands in the sea on lava stone backdrops designed ad hoc by ceramics company Il Pozzo.
