YOUR GIFT: THE IMAGE OF A WOMAN. AFGHAN OR NON-AFGHAN.

The evening organized at Superstudio Più on October 22 by LeDonnexLeDonne group aimed at raising funds to help Afghan women already in Italy or stuck at their native homes, in order to react to all the risks related to the establishment of the Taliban in the country. It was definitely a great success, opening the path to other solidarity initiatives. Among these, the initiative "Solidarity Fine Art" A NATALE DONA UNA FOTOGRAFIA, promoted by the Association of Women Photographers. Here we welcome and report this beautiful initiative.

From mid until the end of August, we witnessed, totally astonished, the dramatic withdrawal of Western troops from Afghanistan. The calls for life respect and various other declarations of intent, which we have read in recent times, are not enough: it is necessary to act concretely. In Afghanistan the condition of women is among the worst in the world: here they are sold, murdered, exchanged for money, forced very young to marry men much older than them, prevented from attending schools. After twenty years of Western occupation, the return of the Taliban regime will lead to further deterioration of the living conditions of the Afghan people and women in particular. Yet,  this initiative was born from the desire to bring support to humanitarian organizations still operating in the country, involving the solidarity network Le Donne per le Donne and 29 Italian photographers of the Association of Women Photographers: Alessandra Attianese, Anna Rosati, Antonella Gandini, Antonella Monzoni, Antonietta Corvetti, Beatrice Mancini, Bruna Orlandi, Daniela Facchinato, Fulvia Farassino, Giovanna Dal Magro,  Giusi Bonomo, Isabella Balena, Liliana Barchiesi, Loredana Celano, Lucia Baldini, Margherita Mirabella, Margherita Dametti, Margherita Verdi, Marianna Cappelli, Marzia Malli, Melania Messina, Ninni Romeo, Paola Agosti, Patrizia Bonanzinga, Patrizia Pulga, Patrizia Riviera, Raffaella Benetti, Simona Filippini, Tiziana Arici.
In this occasion, the photographers have decided to build a photographic series around the lives of women: from East to West, from the past to the present, from documentation to the most conceptual and sensory representation, women are the subject of the sequence. The proceeds will be donated to the following organizations:
CISDA - Italian Coordination of Support Afghan Women Onlus https://www.cisda.it/progetti/relazione-progetti.html
Pangea https://pangeaonlus.org/emergenza-afghanistan-il-progetto/
Emergency https://www.emergency.it/
The photos, printed on fine art paper and accompanied by their certification, will be available from 27 October to 27 November 2021 with a minimum offer of € 150 for each 30x40cm print. The photo sequence will be on social media and on the website www.donnefotografe.org
Remember to purchase your items by November 27, 2021, communicating your choice by e-mail (info@ donnefotografe.org).
