Does the suit make the man? Whether we like to admit it or not, what we wear says something about us long before we speak. We would like to share an extraordinary story. A moving book that shows how a suit can become a tool for confidence, dignity and new opportunities.
Blending fashion, photography and social commitment, "One Suit at a Time" tells a story of second chances. The photographic book by Enzo Dal Verme, art-directed by Pierpaolo Pitacco and published by Rodolfo Namias Editore, was born from an encounter with Suited & Booted, the London-based organization that helps more than 1,200 vulnerable men each year regain confidence and re-enter the workforce.
The images collected in the volume take readers inside a remarkable reality. It looks like a luxury boutique in central London, filled with leading brands and tailored suits, but here the clothes are not for sale. They are given away, together with guidance, support and encouragement to help people prepare for job interviews. A team of stylists welcomes each person with care and respect, offering not only a new wardrobe but also motivation and renewed self-belief.
Page after page, through the stories of its protagonists, the book reveals how a seemingly simple gesture—wearing a suit that makes you feel comfortable and confident—can help restore self-esteem and mark the beginning of a new journey and a new outlook on life.
What started almost by chance from a LinkedIn post has evolved into a visual narrative that gives voice to the people involved and to the vision of Suited & Booted founder Maria Lenn. The book will be premiered on June 19 at the FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum at Superstudio during Milan Fashion Week, as part of the official calendar of the National Chamber for Italian Fashion.
The book will be available from June 22 | Pre-order now: lovetherapy.it/suited-booted
All proceeds from book sales will be donated to Suited & Booted.
