TAKE OFF THE MASK. IT’S TIME TO SMILE

“With caution and optimism” was the title of my editorial published in the latest paper-based version of At magazine. It was December, just before the fourth wave began. However, the diminishing Autumnal data gave us genuine hope that the pandemic would have a positive outcome.

Over the months, Superstudio has never failed to be cautious, sticking to the the anti-contagion rules that the authorities have announced for the few events (with medical devices for immediate swabs and large distanced areas) that the decrees still let us host, just a few shooting and some private companies meeting.
The optimism proved changelling but it was never abandoned, while waiting for the green light that we were certain would arrive sooner or later.
In accordance with the health bulletins, it seems that we are now approaching the end. With the withdrawal of the emergency expected for late March, and other upcoming openings, we hope to be able to host large audiences without needing to wear a mask that acts as a filter between us and the outside world. This was the situation when the latest Circus Eyewear Show happened, showcasing visionary eyewear; after that, the Milan Fashion Week is following in February along with the fair of contemporary fashion, the White Show, taking place at Superstudio Più and in other locations along via Tortona, among which there is the Mudec (Museo delle Culture) for the first time. Also, there is great expectation for the Diesel fashion show and great interest in the young brand Ambush.
In March, the Superclub kicks off at Superstudio Più: the exclusive and scenographic privé where to meet friends and have company and theme parties, music and dance nights. Taking place on March 8, on the International Women's Day, the event will see the opening of the exhibition and a chance to meet the artist Angela Carruba Pintaldi inside MyownGallery and see her paintings, sculptures, video performances and her photo by Giovanni Gastel.
At Superstudio Maxi form 8 to 10 April the first edition of (Un)-fair, the contemporary anti-fair par excellence, surprising and unconventional, and on 28 April back to the usual location the MIA, the event of author photography, this time in collaboration with the Fair of Parma.
With a bit of regret, we report that the competent authorities postponed April's flagship event, the Milan Design Week, along with the Salone del Mobile, and the FuoriSalone, to the first days of June for prudential reasons. This decision provoked a shifting of the dates for the double event Superdesign Show: this year, the project LOOKING AHEAD at the Superstudio Più was moved to 5/12 June. Similarly, the other project DNA, focusing on architecture studios and the new Milan, planned for this year's Design Week at Superstudio Maxi, has been postponed to 2023. In the meantime, Superstudio continues to programme many surprises. Check out the daily preview here.
