From rooftop to open-air creative living room, a new chapter unfolds at Superstudio Più. During Milan Design Week, the venue’s Roof hosts the debut of Re.Circle. Phenomenology of Urban Space, an original project, an unprecedented setting, a shape-shifting agora where disciplines converge and collide. Street art, design, poetry, music, and live performance come together in a vibrant cross-pollination of ideas.

Think of it as an open-air round table: Re.Circle reflects on twenty years of Milanese creative history and propels it into the present with a fresh, unrestrained perspective. The concept draws on a memory from the early 2000s, when a small group of street artists -then outsiders on the city’s art scene - found at Superstudio Più a rare space for experimentation and exchange. It was the beginning of a journey that would eventually lead them to broader recognition.

Two decades later, under the artistic direction of Gisella Borioli and curated by Ivan Tresoldi, that circle reopens and expands. Artists, designers, poets, performers, and “art-igiani” reunite in a creative “circus” celebrating the energy of making and the power of human connection.
From April 21 to 25, the Superstudio Più terrace becomes an open space - both literally and conceptually - where disciplines engage in dialogue without hierarchy. Alongside major figures such as Michelangelo Pistoletto, presenting his Third Paradise, and Flavio Lucchini, with a strikingly minimal solo show, emerging voices and hybrid practices take center stage, dissolving traditional boundaries between art and design.
At the heart of this creative landscape is the vision of knIndustrie, transforming the Roof into a vast convivial architecture. Tables and design objects transcend their everyday function to become tools for encounter, narrative surfaces, catalysts for shared stories and ideas. A public table takes shape - both symbolic and tangible - where the domestic act of sitting together expands into a collective, urban experience.
Re.Circle thrives on installations, but above all on presence and participation. Open studios, performances, talks, and live painting animate a program where each day carries its own theme and voice. It begins with Materia Viva, where live vase-making meets reflections on urban design; continues with Ars Sociale, an open workshop and collective painting session; moves into Poesia Viva, led by Tresoldi, blending visual art and language through encounters with designers, chefs, and curators; and evolves into Movimentarte, where dance and music interact with light installations. The journey culminates in a day dedicated to graphic art and fine printing.
Threaded throughout is the participatory installation The Great White Page, inviting artists and visitors alike to leave marks, gestures, and words—an ever-evolving artwork that grows day by day, like a collective diary of Design Week.
Visitors drift in and out, eat, toast, engage, or simply observe, seated on Slide’s “Enjoy” benches, part of the immersive design setting. The atmosphere is that of a cultural celebration, yet imbued with a deeply reflective dimension. Re.Circle does not merely celebrate design or urban art; it champions the value of wonder, encounter, and shared creativity, urgently needed in our time.
“It will only be dreaming that keeps us awake” says Tresoldi, launching a call to the arts and to imagination—a compelling invitation to see the city anew. Beginning with his own monumental mural, urging us, simply, to dream.
