A Charity Evening organized by the group Le donne per le donne will take place on October 22nd at Superstudio Piu'. This event will be the opportunity to hold a fundraising in favor of our Afghan sisters. A memorable evening which will see many women sharing their personal stories.
These days in Milan there are mysterious comings and goings of women, building a chain of solidarity for Afghan women. The group Le donne per le donne was spontaneously born during the past frightening days of August, when Taliban seized power in Afghanistan. This group is striving to provide real assistance to women still at their houses in Afghanistan, as well as to those already arrived or soon travelling to Italy, with the aim of not forgetting the destiny of their faraway sisters. From the very early hours, many offers of help and hospitality have arrived. The group created by Flora Ribera is composed by women working as managers, professionals, journalists, communication operators, entrepreneurs, mothers and young girls. They created and expanded the group in a few days, promoting many engaging initiatives. Among these, the first official presentation of Le donne per le donne will take place on October 22nd with the event PRIORITY, a charity evening and fundraising dinner held at Superstudio Più in favor of the following three associations: Emergency, Pangea and CISDA.
The actress Cristiana Capotondi will represent the gentle voice of eight Afghan testimonials, connecting their stories of life and job (until the Taliban arrival): a photographer, a director, a mayor, a sportswoman, an entrepreneur, an educator and two human rights activists. The stories and images of some of them have turn into the movie Noi donne afghane, which will be presented with a brief preview during the evening.
The dinner will be prepared by the multi-starred chef Enrico Bartolini. An installation by Flavio Lucchini on the subject will be presented in the window facing the street (art.box) and in Superstudio’s spaces.
