MI-NY: THE EXPANSION OF SUPERSTUDIO DESIGN

For Superstudio Design, the experience of Milan Design Week 2026 truly comes to a close only in the aftermath of the other major international event, ICFF in New York, with which its partnership has now become firmly established and is set to be strengthened even further in 2027. The Milan-New York bridge that Superstudio set out to build through the partnership launched in 2023 now exists, connecting culture, education, business, and above all people and their ideas. The overall balance is highly positive. SuperNova in Tortona impressed audiences with its large-scale installations, international players, and renowned names from the worlds of design and architecture. SuperCity in Barona brought the poetry and elegance of an exhibition curated by Giulio Cappellini into the context of an event often marked by loud - if not overwhelming - tones, where, once the volume is lowered, little room is sometimes left for content. SuperPlayground in Bovisa looked forward by looking “backward,” reconnecting with the more intimate and perhaps most authentic spirit of the Fuorisalone: a platform originally created to offer lesser-known talents, yet rich in ideas and genuine creativity, an exceptional, and in some ways freer, stage. What remains is the tangible sense of having embarked on a virtuous path: a widespread project with many identities, designed to give voice to the different souls of Milan Design Week. A cultural platform for design and its community, between Milan, New York, and perhaps beyond. L.V.
