Different instances are expressed during the evolution of ideas and confrontation in the design agora. They must be composed in the sign of functions and téchne, in the sign synthesis that follows thought and anticipates body and light of what will be. Passages dressing  sensitivity and imagination, which lead virtual beyond physical place, in a space/time special for that architectural complexity that began its own real affirmation.
A turbulent and noisy time, construction site means this; a chaotic live place where materials, shapes and colors, forces and actions, functions and relationships vibrate, shake, move towards a common destiny, seek overall harmony, their real and mutual satisfaction in the wake of design vision. A material becoming led by the energy of knowledge and comparison, by the creative incipit. In order to reach the landing place it’s necessary to proceed rigorously, in a planned and managed way; it takes a transition into different shapes and figures due to a matrix of things, usual actions and gestures that from time to time are composed according to rules and procedures based on design and experience. Once the work is completed a little of these intermediate structures, of these layers under the skin will remain visible. However they are the physical archetype and, in some ways, the metaphysical germ of what the finished building will be, of its very existence. It is also, and above all, through them that architecture opens up, murmurs its intimacy, pushes between its desires and its own uncertainties.

Luca Gilli's exhibition “Passaggi di stato. Superstudio Maxi il cantiere delle idee” will be open to visitors during the Milan Design Week 2021 but can also be partially visited later.
