HERE ARE THE 2024 AWARDS FOR INNOVATION

Posted by: Editorial Staff

With a quote from Enzo Maiorano, co-founder and creative director of Archiproducts:
“Every day, together, we present, narrate, and propose design to the world’s small and large projects, striving to cultivate one essential attitude: recognizing excellence. For this reason, I want to thank all our jurors, naming a few: OMA, Mecanoo, Studio Libeskind, Norm Architects, Stefano Boeri Interiors, Hector Esrawe, Mesura Studio, Pitsou Kedem, Apollo Architects, Hannes Peer, Gabriele Chiave, and Salotto di New York, as well as all the jurors of the Sustainability Award, including Carlo Ratti and Mario Cucinella” we present the new landscape of contemporary design showcased at Superstudio Più on November 15, alongside the awards ceremony for the winners of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024.

At Superstudio Più—renowned as the most influential showcase for new design, a status earned over 25 years since 2000, when it dared to challenge the established system of trade fairs by initiating the Design District in Via Tortona, eventually influencing the entire city—the annual celebration of design excellence took place. This prestigious award is organized by Archiproducts, whose headquarters are located right next to the venue.
In an informal evening filled with project protagonists, famous names, and rising talents, a vibrant crowd radiating energy, talent, and curiosity attended the much-anticipated ceremony. The large jury faced the challenging task of selecting among numerous, diverse, and genuinely innovative proposals in form, intent, and content.
No classicism here—most of the showcased products were marked by a free, daring, and dreamlike aesthetic. Materials and textures stimulated the senses, striving for sustainability in every possible way. Significant pieces of furniture were entirely reimagined in both form and function, while small objects became equally meaningful through the use of new technologies.
The most coveted award, Designer of the Year, went to Patricia Urquiola, who expressed her gratitude by saying:
“I feel like one of those designers who today embrace a brutalist approach to design, obsessed with exploring the beautiful and the ugly in materials while discovering new-generation materials.”
The Special Mention ADA 2024 for Identitarian Design and Architecture was awarded to the Puglia Region and its twelve designers for their works reflecting places, cultures, materials, and people.
On display in the Gallery at Superstudio were an extensive selection of winning products: tables, objects, sofas, chairs, faucets, kitchens, surfaces, and even an inviting, immense hammock.
But the surprises didn’t end there. The evening also featured an announcement by Ferdinando Napoli, CEO and Founder of Archiproducts, regarding international development:
“This evening, together with our three strategic partners, we are launching Archiproducts China and Archiproducts India—two building blocks in the expansion of our Global Trade Network. This network aims to more effectively support our partner companies in international markets, leveraging Archiproducts as a global reference and enhancing this value with the expertise of strategic players deeply integrated in regions where architecture and design are driving significant social, architectural, cultural, and economic change.”
A premise and a promise that we share in purpose, and whose success we are confident about.
