Three initiatives at FLA during Milan MuseoCity. From March 1st to 5th, the museum will remain open to provide various points of reflection. The exhibition "Burqa - A Look Beyond the Veil" by Flavio Lucchini, focused on the symbolism of clothing and modernity. Laura Rota, within The Lab space, presents abstract and geometric creations promoting a message of hope and inclusion. "Meditation Rave" explores the convergence of art, science, and spirituality, offering guided meditation sessions by Daniel Lumera.
The FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum invites reflection on identity, freedom, and diversity.
The highlight is the exhibition "Burqa - A Look Beyond the Veil" by Flavio Lucchini, presented in the Atelier space, which aims to investigate contemporary society through the symbolism of clothing, particularly the burqa, contrasted with modern traits. Through paintings, sculptures, and digital works, Lucchini presents an extremely current vision, despite their genesis dating back to 2009. The exhibition consists mainly of unpublished works, integrated with some pieces presented at the Venice Biennale in 2011, providing a complete insight into the artist's reflection. The theme of Arab culture and the female figure emerges significantly, offering a glimpse of enigmatic, veiled, and seemingly homogenized women who nonetheless aspire to express their individuality. Lucchini's work goes beyond mere artistic representation, emphasizing the intrinsic power of fashion as a vehicle for expression and commentary on social change.
Laura Rota, in The Lab space, a factory area of the museum dedicated to emerging artists, presents her abstract and geometric creations, inviting observers to immerse themselves in an almost hypnotic experience of beauty, harmony, and positive emotions. The artist presents a large canvas painted with the original eight colors of the Freedom Flag. This gesture is not only artistic but carries a message of hope, anticipating a future free of discrimination and conflicts. The painting intervention will be performed live with a grand finale where the artwork will be completed. The other exhibited canvases pay homage to Flavio Lucchini's work and his incisive artistic fashion, painted in shades of gold-bronze and white-ivory.
"Meditation Rave," the third event presented at FLA, is a fascinating blend of the silence of meditation and the liveliness of collective sharing. At the center of this performance, inspired by the previous experience of "The Meditating Mind" at the MAXXI - National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome, is Daniel Lumera, a naturalist biologist and international expert. Thanks to the most advanced Henesis technologies, capable of detecting Lumera's brainwaves during the meditative experience and transforming them into color, the multidimensional performance, curated by Felicia Cigorescu, artistic director, and director, will be transformed into an artwork created by the collective mind of the participants. "Meditation Rave" aims to promote imagination, values communication, and interpersonal relationships, breaking down barriers in the name of universal values such as peace, love, and equality.
These events not only celebrate Milan's cultural heritage but also offer visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the complexity and beauty of the worlds that the city offers.
