BOVISA, INNOVATION (SUPERSTUDIO) VILLAGE

Posted by: Camilla Golzi Saporiti

The clearest confirmation came with the conclusion of Digital Design Days 2026, which wrapped after three sold-out days featuring international guests and record-breaking attendance. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the event turned Superstudio Village into a global platform dedicated to the future of design in the age of artificial intelligence, attracting thousands of professionals, creatives, companies, and emerging talents from around the world. Three simultaneous stages, more than one hundred speakers, workshops, networking sessions, and the debut of the new Design Battle combined to create one of the most successful editions in the event’s history. For three days, an international community transformed the venue into a permanent laboratory of vision, experimentation, and design culture. Yet the success of DDD 2026 extended far beyond the event itself. As the festival surpassed expectations in terms of attendance, visibility, and international impact, a new urban awareness also began to take shape: Bovisa is no longer an emerging district, but one of Milan’s new creative epicenters. If, in the early 2000s, the Tortona district redefined the language of design through the rise of Superstudio Più — pioneering the concepts of Fuorisalone and a more democratic Milan Design Week — today that same creative energy is expanding northward, gravitating around the repurposed industrial spaces of Superstudio Village, now a magnet for global brands, major events, and new creative communities. Digital Design Days 2026 therefore closes with a double consecration: that of a format now firmly established at the center of the international creative scene, and that of a Bovisa that has finally stopped being a promise and become a destination. Just a short distance away, the Fondazione Sozzani (Via Bovisasca 87), housed within the striking new space that includes artist Kris Ruhs’ atelier, archive, and exhibition venue, further enriches the district with contemporary art and cultural programming adding yet another luminous point to one of Milan’s most promising neighborhoods.
