WOO. WAR CAN'T STOP DESIGN

Woo, this was an unexpected participation, sparked by the personal recommendation of designer Kateryna Sokolova from NOOM. This collection was born under the shells, with its distinctive unusual lines and shapes making it appear endless, overcoming the object and its very function.

February 24. The war hits Ukraine: "Russian rockets struck our cities.". We fled from explosions and anti-aircraft sirens, returning to the shelters in our neighbourhood that had been closed for decades. After a few weeks dominated by the only fear of not staying alive, we decided not to pause our lives. So our team gathered in the lab as usual, which fortunately was not damaged. We spent months and months working on our products to build and finish them in time for the Milan Design Week. It could have only been a dream...but we're here!" Dmytro Kozinenko tells us an almost unreal story: a handful of designers working day and night to complete the objects that will soon be displayed in our spaces, with electricity slipping, immersed in the difficulty of finding even the most basic products, in fear and in pain. In other words, Playful Minimalism is a collection that celebrates creativity and determination over war: a collection that, from its very name, highlights the importance of playing and smiling, even in or of, if possible, war, almost adhering to an unintentional sense of playfulness and lightness that makes it quite distinct from the context in which it was created. The result is a story in five act and pieces: Loop, the curvy-shaped sitting following a true loop, continuous, hypnotic and asymmetrical, which challenges the users in terms of its function. The Drova pouf was inspired by the woodticks strove next to the fireplace of the designer's father, and is a basical and functional pouf, a stable architecture that through the intersections in between each element opens up new possibilities and configurations, also serving as a space for storage. Finally, the coffee table Plane with its asymmetrical shape and sculptural lines will bring a sense of artistic elegance to your home, while still remaining functional and minimalist.
