20/04/2026 | MILAN DESIGN WEEK, SUPERSTUDIO PIÙ, OPENING PARTY

WHAT A PERFECT NIGHT

Posted by: Camilla Golzi Saporiti

Exclusive, vibrant, and full of surprise: the opening party at Superstudio Più launched Milan Design Week 2026 with a night that brought together leading figures and bold visions from across the international creative scene. A high-voltage debut that turned anticipation into pure momentum.

The perfect evening, perhaps even something more. Far exceeding expectations, last night’s opening at Superstudio Più set the tone for Milan Design Week 2026 in truly spectacular fashion.
Exclusive - admission by invitation only to a carefully curated guest list - meticulously crafted and rich in detail, the event managed to be sparkling and immersive, symbolic yet light-hearted, with moments of unexpected romance.

The venue, quite literally dressed for the occasion, was elevated by the celebratory installation marking the 25th anniversary of Moooi, conceived by the visionary Marcel Wanders. The scenographic intervention transformed the space into an unpredictable landscape: illuminated Christmas-like trees, overturned sofas scattered throughout, donkey-shaped sculptures, checkerboard tables, and balloon lighting, an imaginative setting perfectly suited to hosting the global creative community.
Among the guests, a constellation of leading figures from design, art, and architecture mingled with key representatives of Italian and international culture and industry. From the “father” of the Bosco Verticale Stefano Boeri to design grande dame Paola Navone; from Compasso d’Oro awardee Giulio Iachetti to Milan’s Councillor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi; alongside Piero Gandini, the young, enterprising CEO of Superstudio Events Tommaso Borioli, and, of course, the incomparable founder and president of the Group Gisella Borioli. They were joined by journalists, talents, creators, influencers, and industry insiders, a collective presence that conveyed the sense of an entire community coming together to inaugurate the most anticipated week of the year.
Amid flutes of sparkling wine and refined finger food, Superstudio Più’s guests were immersed in an atmosphere that was vibrant, informal, playful, and engaging: less an event than a celebration among friends, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The mood - both symbolic and meteorological - proved exceptional, reinforcing that rare balance between elegance and spontaneity.
Setting the rhythm were standout performances: from the double act poised between dance and poetry by French choreographer and director Yoann Bourgeois, whose work captured the gaze and seemed to suspend time, to the DJ set by Populous, which turned the night into an electric, flowing soundscape.
Few formalities, no conventions, just a concentration of pleasure and creativity: the signature style of Superstudio Più revealed itself effortlessly. And if it’s true that a strong beginning is half the work, then this opening already says a great deal about Milan Design Week as envisioned by Superstudio Più. Another edition, certainly, but infused with the excitement and energy of a first.
