WELCOME METSÄ BOARD

Posted by: Edoardo Paghini

It's not simply about producing "green" packaging. Metsä Group's work stems from a vision of matter and time in which forests are not a resource to be consumed, but a system to be cultivated and regenerated. In Finland, the group works with continuous reforestation processes and controlled use of wood to develop innovative materials for contemporary packaging. It's a very Nordic approach, essential and concrete, where technology and nature coexist in the same balance, starting from the name itself: Metsä, in Finnish, means "forest." Research focuses on wood fibers and sustainable alternatives to plastic: recyclable and lightweight materials, designed to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing quality and function. An increasingly central theme for design, fashion, beauty, and food. In this sense, the arrival of Metsä Board at Superstudio Più is not just a new presence, but an alignment of vision. Superstudio and Metsä share the same approach: transforming innovation and sustainability into design culture, within an international network that looks to the future of contemporary materials and languages. This is where the encounter finds its strongest meaning: in building an ongoing dialogue between an industrial company born from the forest and a place that has always interpreted Milan as a laboratory of the contemporary.
