(UN)FAIR IN 5 STEPS

Posted by: Federica Clari

Is back at Superstudio Maxi (March 3 to 5) (un)fair's, the youngest and most surprising contemporary art event. After launching the event in 2022, it is ready to present the new features of the second edition. On @AT Magazine a selection of 5 new galleries recommended by the directors and a "bonus" for our readers.

From March 3 to 5, the spaces of Superstudio Maxi will be colored in shocking green with the second edition of (un)fair, the fair-not-fair born in the midst of pandemic from the idea of Laura Gabellotto and Manuela Porcu, with the intention of creating a platform to connect the new generation of collectors and gallery owners in one engaging space a 360-degree experience with contemporary art, the place to find galleries and artists who are making the history of our days, among performance events, music, lectures, to discover new ways of experiencing contemporary art. Sixty international galleries, an experience with contemporary art that involves all the senses: olfactory paths, performance visits, yoga, activities for children, talks, signature drinks and DJ sets curated by Le Cannibale.
It is Laura and Gabriella themselves who suggest a few stops: IMURA ART GALLERY New entry among the galleries of this second edition, Imura Art Gallery is a Japanese gallery presenting three young Japanese artists still unseen in Italy: Aya Kawato, Kanna Takase and Amane Ishii. From optical illusions and neuroscience to kawai paintings. REASONED ART the first Italian startup dedicated to crypto art, or digital art certified and sold through blockchain and NFT technology. Reasoned Art's goal is to create a bridge between the traditional art world and the emerging crypto art ecosystem, adopting an *onlife* approach that combines tradition and innovation, physical and digital, real and virtual. Not only will there be a gallery booth, but Reasoned Art and (un)fair have partnered to create the first NFT ticket to access an art fair in Italy. The artists involved - ABNormal, Alvaar Altissimo, City Maybe - have created an ad hoc work working on the theme of collecting. For those who are passionate about digital art developments and like to experiment. MIRTIL SPACE is part of the section dedicated to the world of project space called (un)framed, curated by Andrea Lacarpia. It is a "reduced-calorie" project involving very young artists coming out of the Brera Academy. For those who are looking for works by emerging artists and are ready to continue their visit with a smile on their faces! ONSTREAM Gallery Interesting new generation gallery, linked to the digital world and founded by young Chiara Gesualdo. Offline transposition of a project that was born on social, at the fair you will find "Glaucoma" by So Contemporary: a visual hack of Instagram's algorithm that censors nudes.CUT ART Gallery  in Riga with a perfect proposal for lovers of the film world. Two artists on offer: David Lynch-who certainly needs no introduction-and Vlad Ogay, an up-and-coming Korean-born artist presenting provocative works on sex and religion, who has taken part in several award-winning film productions at Cannes and Venice.
"Last but not least." The bonus point is actually the purpose of the fair itself. In fact, these three days of (un)fair are an opportunity to indulge yourself in taking the time to choose a work of art, whether it is a piece for your own collection or a take your first steps in the contemporary art market. (un)fair proposes sustainable collecting - buying works by modern-day artists means supporting their work - and offers support services to visitors: from the handy wrapping station run by logistics experts, Mail Boxes Etc., to the virtual fair where you can also buy online during the days of the event.
Don't miss it!
