Soon, the creator of the project “Working on my tan: the ultimate tanning guide” will work as a special guest in the studios of Superstudio 13 alongside the professionals and creatives of Superstudio Set and E-Photo, using a mirrorless camera from the GFX system with GF lenses provided by Fujifilm Italia.
The project, awarded during the latest edition of MIA Photo Fair, ironically explores the rituals tied to the pursuit of the “perfect tan,” exposing and amplifying the absurdity of habits connected to the obsession with tanned skin. In an era dominated by appearances, the artist used an aesthetic of saturated and deliberately exaggerated colors to reveal the absurdity of behaviors that are now perceived as normal.
Thanks to the award, Giulia Sidoli will have the opportunity to create a new customized professional shoot. The Superstudio Photo Award — born from the collaboration between Superstudio Events and MIA Photo Fair and dedicated in its first edition to Oliviero Toscani — thus confirms its intention to concretely support young artists beyond the award ceremony itself, transforming recognition into a real opportunity for production and professional growth.
Meanwhile, as the winner’s shoot takes shape, preparations are already underway for the next edition of the contest, which will continue to highlight the vision of the new generations of European photographers.
