Milan, the city that has patronage and support for art embedded in its DNA by enlightened private citizens, continues to shine as one of the main social and economic engines. In this context, the non-profit organization Cramum, dedicated to supporting artistic excellence in Italy, has organized a comprehensive exhibition at MyOwnGallery in Superstudio, titled "Private Collection Vol.1 - Lorenzo Marini," curated by Sabino Maria Frassà.
    The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to delve into Marini's works, collected over the years by a Milanese collector known for their foresight, who has chosen to remain anonymous. It is a journey through the artist's creations from 2012 to the present, many of which have never been exhibited before, as they are located in various residences, not only in Milan.
    But what role does patronage and collecting play in today's art scene? Undoubtedly, it is discreet and timely support for artistic excellence that facilitates the design and production phase. However, this virtuous relationship between patron and artist, while valuable, has the limitation of being elitist and accessible only to a select few, fortunate homeowners. Aware of this challenge, Cramum has chosen to create a form of collective restitution and sharing of beauty with society. Lorenzo Marini's exhibition thus becomes a vehicle for the democratization of art, reaching a much wider audience.
    Lorenzo Marini, a pioneer of Type Art, emerges as a key figure in contemporary artistic research. As the founder of a movement that aims to liberate letters, Marini focuses on the aesthetics and meaning of the graphic sign. Each of his works becomes a piece of a puzzle, telling stories, eliciting emotions, and raising questions.
    Through his creations, the artist invites viewers to experience the magic of letters, grasp their deeper meaning, and reflect on their communicative potential. It challenges us to look beyond words, leading to a contemplation of the speed of language transformation and the fusion of traditional syntax, images, logos, and emoticons. His works, ranging from BodyType to Alphatype, narrate the change in communication, emphasizing the prevalence of form over semantic essence.
    The exhibition opens with the series "BlackHole," where Marini addresses the future of communication. Letters, "liberated" from centuries of contextualization, come together in whirlwinds without forming complete words. This lack of punctuation creates an apparently impossible discourse, a deconstruction of letters reflecting contemporary reality, characterized by fragmented thought. Marini glimpses hope in the "black hole," which could be a portal to another dimension where liberated words become symbols of pure beauty, new protagonists of our existence.
