THE ART JEWELRY BY ANGELA PINTALDI

Posted by: Federica Speciale

Angela Carrubba Pintaldi, artist and designer, defines her art jewelry as testimonies of the beauty that arises from the union of distant elements. The exhibition “Between Heaven and Earth” celebrates this synthesis, intertwining earthly stones like aquamarine, turquoise, coral, amber, pearl, obsidian, lapis lazuli, and diamonds with celestial gems like meteorites. It’s not just about aesthetics, but about meaning: “It’s an ancestral and cosmic union. It’s a dialogue between elements given by nature. Materials that come from a distant world we don’t know, creating a dreamy jewel that expresses something imaginary.” A spherical thread in bronze or silver makes the connection between these elements tangible, highlighting how different realities can be incredibly akin. Celtic traditions and Ancient Egypt, with their essential forms, symbolism, and selection of stones, are sources of creativity for Angela. “I am inspired by Nefertiti, archaeological myths, and ancient goddesses,” says the artist. This influence is also manifested in the installations titled “Infinity,” where two cubic showcases house ancient bracelets and her most recent creations. They represent an evolution in Angela’s creative process. “Normally, I start with the stone and from there create the piece. In this case, I started with the circle, representing the world, the eclipse, a cycle, and a return. This shape represents infinity. And so, the jewel is timeless, a representation of beauty that lasts forever.”
