TAORMINA REWARDS CREATIVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
The summer appointment with Taomoda Week is becoming increasingly rich and varied in the magical setting of Taormina. A week that brings the most beautiful and active Sicily under the spotlight of the world.
Taormina adds a day (the 14th of July) and a Sustainability award at the Awards that for years have been given to excellent personalities of enterprise and creativity with a round table entitled “Craftmanship towards the economy of customization” with the participation of Mario Boselli, President of Italia Cina Foundation (on July 15). Besides, there will be a focus on Design with a conference, presentations of the book DESIGN SUPER SHOW by Gisella Borioli (who has already received the Tao Award years ago) and the delivery of the Tao Award for Design to the architect Piero Lissoni who appears among the protagonists of the volume. During the Gala evening, (on July 16) from the ancient Theater of Taormina, the journalist Cinzia Malvini of La7 will deliver the other Tao Awards reserved for creators of fashion, music, journalism, television and sustainability. We anticipate some names. For fashion: Cristiano Burani, Gianluca Capannolo, Alessandro Enriquez and the creative design couple Marco Giugliano e Nicol Bologna, who have launched the brand Marco Bologna.
Piero Piazzi, manager and talent scout, accompanied by the top model Nadège, will receive the career award. Ludovica Casellati, on the other hand, will receive the first Tao Award dedicated to Sustainability for his commitment to promoting low environmental impact tourism. Other Tao Awards are waiting to be handed over to as many celebrities of excellence. Perhaps the most deserved prize would go to the tireless and volcanic president of Taomoda, the journalist Agata Patrizia Saccone, who launching Taomoda Sicily and the brands of the Made in Sicily declares: “A special edition awaits us and we will presenti it in a renewed and concentrated format but with even more enthusiasm. We worked in speed and with even more effort, consciously choosing to support the new generations, the future of the sector. We also wanted to take the field in support of the Made in Sicily and the fashion culture that has been able to reinvent itself in difficulty with pride, highlighting the importance of issues related to sustainability. Hoping that the business culture can create wealth and last in time in time above all, drawing on renewable resources with care and responsibility”.
