After Milan Fashion Week, the city doesn’t slow down and is gearing up for a packed October full of art-related events. Exhibitions, openings, installations, and special initiatives will take place not only in galleries and museums but also in more unconventional spaces.
Here are the artistic events of the coming month:
October 1-6: Chartae by Giorgio Melzi – MyOwnGallery
A dive into the 1970s in Milan through the works of Giorgio Melzi. His "Carte" pieces convey, through colors and shapes, the creative energy that turned Brera into a hub of art and design, blending personal stories and artistic influences.
Starting October 3: The Art of Fashion by Flavio Lucchini – Studio Lombard DCA
Studio Lombard opens its doors to art with 19 works by Flavio Lucchini, exploring the fine line between fashion and art. All this is set in an accounting firm that has always been committed to sustainability, circular economy, and social and cultural enterprises.
October 12: Contemporary Art Day – FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum
The FLA Museum participates in the annual Contemporary Art Day, an event organized by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums) to bring the public closer to contemporary art.
October 19-20: PLEATS – FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum and Art.box
As part of ApritiModa 2024, the FLA Museum presents the PLEATS exhibition. Lucchini, a master of transforming fashion into art, demonstrates how pleats can become something more: a soft architecture, a play of light and shadow telling the story of great designers like Krizia, Issey Miyake, and Yohji Yamamoto. The exhibition also includes a video focus dedicated to Miyake and his iconic "Pleats Please".
