On Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March, from 16 to 18.30, you can discover a still secret place in the area: the Flavio Lucchini Art Museum.
After originating from the artist's studio in 2000, it has now evolved into a creative space where dozens of the artworks he created over the years are on display. Fashion – that is the artist's true background – is at the centre of his considerations, even when meeting art: “Women’s dresses can convey beauty, irony, boldness, eroticism and many other emotions. They represented a major part of my life and I have never considered them as simple shells. From the divine haute couture dresses to the miniskirts and to the hippy, folk, punk, casual, sexy dresses, they have always “marked” the time and today they still help explain the ever-changing world. The “lesson” of Vogue, which I created in Italy, has deeply affected me. The transition from fashion to art has been a natural step”.
The "Dress Memory" series, the volumes of the Capucci-like, Krizia-like, Ferré-like draperies, the Armani black code revealed to Lucchini the symptoms of the transformation of our society over the last 30 years.
“Fashion is an endless becoming, it is born to die and to constantly being renovated and substituted. You use it and then discard it. Well. I would like certain dresses to last forever, in order to remember the thrill they conveyed.”
The journey happening in the Museum between fashion and art embraces the whole Tortona Fashion District where the dreamlike collection of Armani Silos coexists with the international Museum of Cultures.
