MIA PRIZE BEYOND THE IMAGE

Posted by: Carlota Calvi

Research and enhancement, MIA Fair has been synonymous with photography for ten years in Milan, from masters who have marked its history to future international talents, exhibitions and critical publications. A commitment celebrated this coming autumn with the new fair edition at Superstudio Maxi, where the winners of the New Post Photography award will also be exhibited.

Photography as a reality's study, that imperceptible eye capturing a moment and its master. In the age of hyper-image exposure, where DIY approach is absolute, photography finds itself focusing on those who have turn it into Art. As demonstrated by 19 recently announced winners of New Post Photography award, the prize which MIA, Milan Image Art Fair, has been giving since 2019, by comparing artists from all over the world. In addition to fast image, to traditional view, the award represents the symbol of a passionate research which the Milanese fair began since its creation ten years ago and has always aimed at exploring and promoting contemporary photography's languages and trends.
A prophetic analysis approach that led the fair among the top international events for the discipline, combining the best works, authors and experts. A debate that today celebrates its anniversary and renews its commitment to Superstudio, just where it all began, but in the new and futuristic venue of Superstudio Maxi, sustainable and technologically advanced. A partnership which since the first steps has called for Photo Culture's convergence, ready to be confirmed for the second decade. Starting right from the award winners shots selection here in advance and on show in the venues of via Moncucco from October 7th to 10th.
