From Ovidian myth to the thematic thread of MIA: the inevitable, unpredictable and enthralling process of «Metamorfosi», one that reshapes eras, identities, languages, artistic practices and visual codes, takes center stage from March 19 to 22 at Superstudio Più, with the 15th edition of the most compelling photography fair on the scene.

Yes, it is a show, an exhibition, a kind of super-gallery devoted to contemporary fine-art photography. But it is more than that. MIA is also a space for encounter and exchange: while bringing together at Superstudio Più some of the most compelling artists, authors, gallerists and emerging talents from the international scene, it becomes the place to be for collectors, enthusiasts and the simply curious.

Because MIA, as artistic director Francesca Malgara aptly put it, «creates relationships and connects different visions, geographies and languages». This year more than ever, if the premises are anything to go by.
For the upcoming 15th edition, scheduled from March 19 to 22, the fair will host 111 exhibitors, including 76 galleries, 27 of them international and 24 taking part for the first time. Alongside the booths, a rich program of talks, special projects and awards will unfold, first among them the Superstudio Photo Award, dedicated to Oliviero Toscani, which supports young photographers seeking their own path and voice.
The result is a broad and multifaceted chorus of perspectives that, through the power and subtlety of photography, brings the concept of «Metamorfosi» into sharp focus. Chosen not merely as an Ovidian reference but as a statement of intent, the theme speaks of changing form without losing identity, of crossing languages and techniques, of redefining the boundaries between the real and the imagined. Here the ancient myth gives way to experimental contemporaneity, allowing the image to transform freely, moving between analogue and digital, between document and construction, between memory and artifice.
Metamorphosis thus becomes the fil rouge of the entire exhibition: it runs through the four sections on view, the awards and the special projects, with the aim of sparking new reflections on identity, matter, media and the relationship between the human and the artificial. It is also an invitation to slow down our gaze and see photography as both a tool and a space for awareness: not merely a showcase, but an expression of how, and how profoundly, we are changing.
