Architect, biophilic designer and sustainable advisor, winner of the World Green Design Contribution Awards and the Green Building Council Italia Leadership Awards, he has been working for years on the sustainability theme through hybrid proposals ranging from architecture to interiors and green details of lifestyles.

You call yourself as a biophilic designer. What does that mean exactly?
Being a biophilic designer means placing the  focus on "Human" factor with Environment and Nature Ecosystem, reconnecting Man to the Natural world through concept and Design.

Your two reference points sustainability and technology may seem like an oxymoron. How are they not?
The real challenge of our time is precisely to find balance between technological development and respect for the environment through sustainability, where technological innovation simplifies life and does not complicate it and where physical and virtual dimension meet, for the improvement of people's overall quality of life, in harmony with environment.

From theory to practice, how do you combine it?
My approach has always been to explore new project itineraries, to try to respond through research and practice to the complex problems of contemporary society, not to stop immediately to the easy answers, to raise the bar, to experiment through design culture and sustainability solutions for improving people's quality of life, through models not only theoretical but testable in practice, both testing their validity and user-friendly. Engaging practices with public, to bring it closer to the complex issues of modernity through Design, learning technologies and  Innovation Ecosystem, immersing themselves in spaces, environments and prototypes of life and work able to tell theory through reality.

What can architects do to make the world better?
There are major problems in our time and they will certainly not end in coming years, indeed perhaps complexity will be even greater, but we have skills, technologies and resources to improve, evolve and survive changes. Each of us, in his own little way, can contribute, every day through his choices, to improve his quality of life and that of others, impacting less on environment. With our projects, skills of our teams and innovations we experience and test we can make a very important contribution to the Community. In recent years I have seen the birth and evolution of a great sensitivity in society in all age groups, from citizens, to companies and organizations, let's think about changes in collective lifestyles resulting from  designers and design community proposals. Today it is up to governments to move from announcements to facts, creative people have already done it and Superstudio has witnessed this in recent years with creative and sustainable projects, installations, events and performances.
