"The common thread of my work: curiosity, and desire to always look at the next day, never to what is over. Projects which I’m more attached to are those that are not completed, because as soon as they finish for me a sort of period, an adventure, a journey ends. There’s no end to curiosity, to the different’s exploration: as meaning that it’s really like a treasure hunt and you know this treasure is somewhere in the end".
Born in Turin and Milanese by adoption, Paola Navone graduated in Architecture in 1973 and between the 70s and 80s she was part of Alchimia group with Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi. Where she breathes the revolution which opens the door to contemporary libertarian design, laying the post-modern foundations. Thus one of the most prominent Italian designers story in the international field begins, outside the box of life and work. Eclectic, interested, visionary, practical, generous, open minded, never banal, feminine in the best sense of the word. She loves world’s South colors, travel, traditions as well as innovative and unexpected solutions. She is an architect, designer, art director and interior designer. A 360-degree experience in the world of design, hers, crowned by successes and international awards. Each project tells a thousand stories, brings together the past the present the future and what no one can imagine. She gets the emotion out from recovered potsherds with curiosity, the wonder from mixage between contrasting elements, the poetry involving artists and artisans who never would met, the imagination by the casual use of patterns textures colors and materials harmoniously out of tune. Her houses are spectacular, her hotels amazing, her shops immersive. Her events, unforgettable. Awards all over the world, exhibitions as well.
