The unmissable events that Ventura Projects realized in Milan during the Design Week will no longer be there. The Dutch studio that had discovered decentralized places such as Lambrate and the surroundings of the Central station with Nordic and avant-garde design closes.

The news arrived like lightning in a clear sky, on Friday 15th May, and left the world of Milan's design and Fuorisalone stunned. First excellent victim of the post-coronavirus, Margriet Vollenberg announced the closure of her temporary design project Ventura Projects which had brought a breath of news, of unexpected events, of discovery during the Milan Design Week. First to open to the public of architects and young creatives the transformation area of Lambrate and then brave to recover the Magazzini Recordati near the Central Station for design, thus drawing the attention of the Municipality and the Railways to the possibilities of those structures to be time abandoned.
"After 10 successful editions and ready for the eleventh edition of Milan Design Week 2020, Ventura Projects is no longer feasible" writes Margriet Vollenberg on the farewell letter "It is with great regret that I had to witness how the Coronavirus crisis has hit the whole world, the event and design industry, and therefore my company. I spent many sleepless nights worrying if and how I could save or transform my company to adapt to a new normal in order to still be able to serve the world of design and enhance talent as we have always done. It is therefore with great pain in my heart that I came to the conclusion that it is no longer possible to build my dream, and therefore the dreams of many designers and design studios. The current circumstances leave me no choice but to end the Ventura Projects.
It was one of the most difficult tasks we have ever faced as a team. Talking to all our friends and design lovers was deeply painful and touching. For now, I look back with great pride and gratitude for what my team and I have been able to accomplish in the world of international design. With over 7000 exhibitors, we have presented countless innovative and incredible solutions to the world. We sincerely hope that the energized atmosphere of global design events will return soon. More than ever, to face this crisis and its consequences, the world needs creativity, playfulness and ingenuity that design can offer ". We will miss decentralized events that attracted thousands of visitors and highlighted highly talented international designers and young experts with unusual installations. We will miss the energy of Margriet and her alter ego in Milan Fulvia Ramogida that we are sure we will soon find on new amazing different projects.
