“Colorful”: it is the event that the FLA-FlavioLucchiniArt Museum is proposing as an extraordinary opening on the occasion of the 19th “Giornata del Contemporaneo”, scheduled in Milan, Saturday 7 October, when the museum itself will inaugurate a new space inside, “The Lab”, intended to host temporary exhibitions of young artists and creatives.
The colors, actually alternating with the graphic clarity of black and white, are those of "Hair", the one hundred emotional (non)portraits that Flavio Lucchini created between the last months of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. A life analysis? Not at all, even if the works arrive in conjunction with the artist's 95th birthday It is, if anything a very rich and fascinating series of impressions, experienced with happiness and satisfaction in the memory of the many fortunate and pleasant encounters he had during a human and artistic certainly not common journey. No less contemporary is also the approach with which Lucchini tells/doesn’t tell us about these encounters: few strokes, fast, immediate, direct, "easy", which exude love for life. And sensations/impressions that are more alive and lively than ever.
Chromatic and material energy is also the key to understanding the seven "impulsive" works of the young artist Davide Paglia - named in the most fitting and appropriate way possible: "Energies", spray paint effects on photographic paper encapsulated in plexiglas - which touches the honor and burden of inaugurating "The Lab" with its concise exhibition the space that joins the twenty rooms of the museum, to become an innovative pole of visibility in a known and consolidated context. In summary: a corner of FLA looking to the future, even more than contemporary.
