It’s an opportunity to uncover the finest materials, instruments, and tools for sewing and yarn crafts, decorations and jewelry, crochet, calligraphy, handcrafted bookbinding, and painting techniques.
Wander through over 10,000 square meters of space and afford yourself the luxury of time to explore the "Via delle Idee," a favorite area within “Abilmente”. Engage with creative spirits and artisans from across Italy and beyond, absorb their stories, and be swept away by their fervor. This year's novelties include Naomi Vona's collages that marry vintage with modernity, and the spirited patchworks by the "La Guglia e la Guggiada" association. Superstudio Maxi also hosts “Spazio B**K”, a Milanese bookstore that curates illustrated books from around the world, and “Impronte d’Autore”, a specialty shop providing materials for print and decoration. Additionally, there’s an abundance of tools for seasoned illustrators and emerging artists alike, thanks to the extensive range offered by “Pentel Italia”, the Milan-based arm of the Japanese multinational renowned for its writing, drawing, and coloring products.
But there's more. The exhibit showcasing the work of French artist Niki De Saint Phalle is a revelation of what transpires when crochet meshes with art. "Sul filo dell’Arte" association brings to “Abilmente” an inspired interpretation of her most renowned pieces, "Les Nanas" through exuberantly knitted and crocheted artworks.
At the creative ideas salon, there are hundreds of courses scheduled where experts and novices of every age can test themselves to give shape to their own ideas. their mettle and mold their ideas into being. It's a place to learn, experiment, and craft in the spirit of joyous creation.
