Real, virtual, nomad, shared: a new organisation of work and study. This is the concept of SuperCampus, the new project by Giulio Cappellini for Superdesign Show 2021 providing a time and space revolution where beauty, quality and social relations will be a possibile solution and concrete answer after covid.
"The recent isolation period has emphasized a process already in progress: a new way of working and managing one’s own time. People used to work many hours at the office, investing then free time on hobbies, relaxing and living in their own home.
Later on, a less rigid behaviour began towards our own work: fewer hours spent in the office, working also from home, shorter meetings, less formal wear, relax in the work environment.
We have realised that it is not necessary to spend a lot of time in an austere meeting room to make important decisions, but discussions may also be held in the office break room. Therefore more fluid and flexible spaces, ready to transform itself according to need, of course creating privacy corners for each one.
It is no longer a headquarter but a campus, no more unicolour spaces but great attention to colour palette and use of natural colours.
We have now realised that we can work at home, in a bar, or in a park...
We are less settled and more nomads and the modern technology helps us to decrease movements and organize many virtual meetings.
This will not completely replace meetings, lunches, encounters that will be however less formal and more free.
Working this way means to have more time to reflect and to dedicate to ourselves and to our own well-being.
Being well means working better.
The real approach mixed with virtual approach at work will be the fundamental topics dealt with in the project SuperCampus 2021 at Superstudio Più during the Milano Design Week in April where technology will face both today’s furniture and contemporary design classics because nothing will ever be able to replace the beauty of reality.
New needs, new rules, new approach to work do not scare us, on the contrary they stimulate us to think of a new future where to work peacefully and... we will be shaking hands again!"
