The Museo Diffuso della Comunicazione represents a significant step towards the valorisation of culture, art and innovation, and demonstrates how art and communication can converge into a single experience, a 'territory of diffuse beauty' and an 'expanded museum of communication'.
Ugo Nespolo's installation TAM TAM "Theatre of Medial Arts", unveiled during the opening event, represents 14 icons of communication, from the typewriter to the e-mail snail, from newspaper titles to visual communication tools such as television, radio and the movie camera.
Nespolo's artistic work - who was awarded an honorary Master's degree in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources on the occasion, in virtue of his multifaceted art in terms of practices and languages, despite his unmistakable style that places him among the last heirs of the mass avant-garde - will remain as a permanent work in the hall of IULM Building 1, the heart of the Campus and the hub of the University's life.
The event will be attended by the Rector, Professor Gianni Canova, the President of the Board of Directors, Professor Giovanni Puglisi, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Tourism, Professor Vincenzo Trione, and the Councillors for Culture of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, Francesca Caruso and Tommaso Sacchi.
