A COLORFUL VOYAGE

The Armani/Silos spaces host the exhibition "Colors, Places, Faces": a narrative not only of photography, a unique combination of art and journalism.

Ten international names, ten ways of understanding photography, ten artists united by the desire to explore reality and communicate emotions. The exhibition, curated by Giorgio Armani in collaboration with Magnum Photos, recounts Christopher Anderson's China, Olivia Arthur's Dubai, Bruno Barbey's Morocco, to Werner Bischof's New York and René Burri's social architecture and Harry Gruyaert's shorelines; we move from Martin Parr's sharp dissection of English living, to Tokyo and Venice portrayed by Gueorgui Pinkhassov, from Iran painted in its everydayness by Newsha Tavakolian, to Alex Webb's Latin America and the Caribbean in saturated hues.
"Colors, Places, Faces," Armani explains, "takes us on a journey through worlds and cultures near and far, transfigured by each of the artists through a personal vision. The attention to reality is what fascinates me about their photographs, which are never simple reportage."
With this exhibition, Giorgio Armani has chosen to support projects dedicated to combating school dropout by Save the Children, the international organization that has been fighting to save at-risk children and ensure their future for more than 100 years.

From June 19 to November 6, 2022, Armani/Silos, via Bergognone 40, Milan.
