Each of these design approaches can take into account the history and future of the world, the aesthetic needs of the user, the advancing progress, the artisan and creative ability with which they must interface to continue to affirm its indispensable value.
DISCOVERING is dedicated to that expanded, reflective and powerful design where co-production, the meeting between designers and manufacturing companies, engineers and companies, architects and digital craftsmen, students and teachers, cultural institutions and creatives generate and regenerate honest, respectful and forward-looking solutions.

• B26LAB is a series of multifunctional objects designed in Andrea Battivello’s creative lab – passionate about theatre, design, fittings – that deals with parametric design for a tailor-made approach, the creation of simple and evocative forms, the use of waste MDF panels. A lightweight project designed to rediscover the value of a researched simplicity and to apply the concept of circular economy in different objects. • Centre for Creativity / Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) presents [Tunnel 29] – Design for a post-apocalyptic world, an exhibition curated by Mika Cimolini and conceived in an almost prescient way before the pandemic. The works of about 30 Slovenian designers fit in and must be measured against a severely damaged environment, where life is to be preserved and nurtured. Resources are scarce, travel is limited, as is commonly said it is necessary to turn necessity into virtue. What might seem nostalgic for a simpler and more primitive world is a manifesto of the disruptive productive, creative and ecological potential that design can develop when it becomes the hinge between technology, craftsmanship, nature and resources equally available. • FIBEREUSE: an European project representing the reality of a sustainable transition to circular economy and involving 21 partners from 7 different European states with the coordination of Politecnico of Milan. The theme is the reuse of fiberglass and carbon, two materials used in large quantities and in different production areas that, once their life cycle is over, they saturate landfills all over the world. In 4 years of research, FiberEUse has developed a method of regeneration of these composite materials by rediscovering their nobility and function in a collection that is much more than an experiment: it is a new production process that can be replicated and applied in series. • MEDAARCH, design studio active in design and architecture, specialized in innovative and sustainable processes and technologies, presents its main project Mediterranea-A mediterranean idea of 3D printed design. A lot has been said about 3D printing, which, while it was being discussed, has made great strides. Medaarch puts this technology at the service of man, maintaining the artisanal approach typical of its Italianness, using as less material as possible and creating a collection of furniture based on additive manufacturing process, thanks to the use of 3D printing.  Mediterranea collection is made of PLA, a bioplastic derived from the processing of sugars in maize and other natural, biodegradable and compostable materials. • NESTART and AP Designs Nestart is an innovative startup founded on recycling economy. Objects take shape from material recovery, modeled from industrial waste steel, suitably treated to make it safe and eternal. From Rolo, Reggio Emilia, design objects and furnishing surfaces starting from industrial processing slabs, reinterpret surfaces with laser cutting technology. Workshop of ideas, Nestart has found energy in new realities. Sapiens Design and Stefano Lodesani Studio share this eco-sustainable philosophy and, in a creativity meeting, four collections were born, with the finishing by APDesigns. • POLLINI HOME porcelain stoneware slabs in large sizes and different thicknesses to create furnishing elements capable of responding to customer’s emotional needs: a return to the material in balance between design and craftsmanship. For Milan Design Week 2021 Pollini Home presents at Superstudio Più furniture and finishes that refer to the natural beauty of Italian stones, the history of territories and traditions. Among the finishes of a collection created largely by the Sapiens Design duo, the relief fresco technique, pre-engraving, Wabi-Sabi and thermoforming stand out. • RUFA Rome University of Fine Arts presents EXXTRA a project curated by Daniele Falchi, coordinated by Giulio Pernice, whose protagonists are the students of the second year of the Biennum in Multimedia arts and Design. For Superdesign Show, RUFA has selected three works reflecting on the pandemic condition from different points of view, giving hope and inviting to think beyond and make system, as young talents know how to do. We will have MUTUAL, where Gianmatteo Buttiglione and Mirko Pelliccia invite the user to experiment with delicacy the effect of their influence on the surrounding environment. With HOLOX by Daniele Falchi and Simone Tecchia the behavioral factor becomes the keystone capable of determining adaptation and extinction. At last, FLOW by Consuelo Donati who introduces us to a new living species, that of the hybrid machine man, of our body that through the experience of surfing the net propagates and fluidifies in a new cybernetics.
